Drip Irrigation - How much for Japanese Maple?

I'm in the process of designing a drip irrigation system that will water my japanese maple once a week (when it doesn't rain) along with other various plants. My question is, what is a good 'average' amount of water to apply to a young tree weekly? I need to know what size emitters to buy and how many but what I'm looking for is from you guys is a typical gallons per week rate that I could use as a starting point.

My tree is a Fireglow JM that is about 5 feet tall and is in well drained soil that I bought from Home Depot :) . I live in Raleigh, NC (zone 7B) and it gets very hot in the summer.

I appreciate any feedback, thanks!
