All those ground up wood chips from the ground up stump will eventually decompose and settle, so you should allow for this by raising the grade when you replant.

Nurseries tend to be better at keeping the plants happy (its their full-time job after all) and so your new plant was very happy there so is showing its happiness in delayed fashion - those figs were set as the tree went dormant. I had some trees do that and then not produce another fig for several years. There is also a large variety difference. In my main planting my youngest fig is now setting the biggest breba crop I have ever seen. Scott

Peonies are propagated by divisions and the fall is the best time. You can take a division from her plants by cutting a section out of hers without digging up the whole plant which could be a big job with old plants. When you divide try and get at least three buds for next years growth as well as a large section of the tuberous root attached. Al
