Pandora's Box is indeed super cute. We picked a few up a year ago for $3.99 each! PB1 PB2 Paradigm was new last spring. Paradigm, wider view Patriots, divided and moved 3 yrs ago Patriot 2 3 large mature Paul's Glory are wonderful growers in various lighting conditions and of course they get lighter in the center as the season goes on. PG1 - almost no direct sun PG2- morning sun PG3- full sun into the early afternoon Piedmont Gold - 5 or 6 years old ... great colour and shape but I expected it to be bigger last year. I think it may be too deep and/or too close to the cedars and big blue. Will have to dig it up, replenish the soil and move it a bit when the eyes show this spring. Ken, yeah, that's what I was afraid of. It's not particularly unusual looking. I bought this, and I try to make a habit of labeling my hostas, but it seems like the only labels I can ever find are the ones on hostas I don't like. :) I think I do remember ordering a Potomac Pride, which is why I was guessing that this was it, and I don't have another very large, very dark green hosta on the place. But maybe I'll just try to dig a portion of it. Arg, even that is going to be a hassle. And I really could use four divisions. I could wait until spring and dig it when it's first emerging, I guess. Yes, Don, mine came from Green Mtn., too. The plant that I rec'd had been planted too deep so I had a single eyed plant with so-so roots and then a clump below that with a lot more roots and 5-6 (at least) dormant eyes. After debating about it for a few days, I ended up cutting off the leaved plant and roots and potted it up. The remaining leafless clump of roots also got potted in a separate pot...I'm keeping that one under cover so I can control the moisture it gets, keeping it a bit on the dry side so it doesn't rot. Hopefully that one will be really nice clump in a couple of years. I'm expecting immature leaves for a year or two. Maybe I'll get surprised! Mocc, I love the fragrant hostas. I have a bunch of those that I just got from Green Mtn, Hallson's and Northern Grown Perennials. No one talks about NGP much but I got terrific multi-eyed plants (mature divisions) from them as well as a huge bonus plant (Love Pat.) I was very much impressed with the quality & size of the plants. Ordering process is a bit awkward but it's well worth the xtra bit of effort.
