cutting bloom stems of Naked Ladies?
Comments (4)Thanks Al, advice appreciated. These are located in an area that we need for driveway and parking so they need to move. I just wanted to give them the best chance of survival. I believe these are Lycoris. The pinkish lavendar, is that L squameriana (?sp) My zone is misleading as these are in MO and the zone is 5a. Thanks again....See MoreFor HelenH--multiplying naked ladies.
Comments (6)My next door neighbor has had naked ladies for over ten years and she never divides them and they bloom each year. I think they are beautiful, she planted her's around trees and they look so pretty when they bloom. I don't know how to stop something form dividing. My daylilies have to be divided every couple of years or they won't bloom very well, so this year I am giving all of them to my aunt in the fall. I am tired of digging them up....See MoreNaked Lady bulbs too crowded to bloom
Comments (6)Calokie, I am near Stilwell, in Adair County. Yes, they are in a clean area--under grass. I too am extremely allergic to poison ivy and oak and have been spraying every sprig I see with Roundup for years. Let me know if you would like to come dig. Ceresone, I know that some nurseries sell for $10 a bulb. But I googled and found others that sell ranging from $3 to $7, I assume small bulbs. A local nursery let me sell some for $.50 because they are so common here--and they didn't all sell. I personally think the price is kept high because they multiply so rapidly and if people bought many they would soon be overwhelmed with the things. I've given away at least a thousand--probably more in the last 15 years. But I've been growing them for 38 years having inherited 26 from my grandmother back then....See MoreNaked ladies blooming beautifully this year.
