I do recall now the lighter iris's name is "Hemstitched" but I don't recall the darker purple one's name.

My son in law purchased a box of iris for me from Sam's 2 years ago. They were absolutely gorgeous this past spring. I didn't get any rebloom from them though. They are Hemstitch [kind of white background with blue violet edging] and Feed Back [the solid blue violet]. Made a beautiful combination and one or both were fragrant. The picture on the box was darker than what they turned out to be and I was very pleased with them. Actually has started me on an iris collecting quest.

I suppose the record heat here has helped the fall bloom of these iris - the last 7 days has ranged 84-91 degrees. So I guess in a normal year I'll not get this much (or possibly no) rebloom. But last year the same heat wave in Oct. happened - maybe this is the new "normal"!

The rebloom you are getting were already in the iris when they were purchased. You may or may not get rebloom next year. In my location it is the cooler weather that seems to trigger rebloom. Lee Mincy

That's interesting. I suppose then that rebloom happens more often when you fertilize & keep watering during dry spells - as opposed to weather conditions?

I do give my rebloomers extra fertilize and water if needed stating about the first of June. I did start the first of July but I got some some continious bloomers so I start earlier. If the weather gets too warm as August did this year there will be no rebloom until the weather cools down. I had bloom from late February until the first hard freeze last year but I had no bloom from early July until September this year I think because of the heat. My average high for August was over 100 degrees. Also some rebloomers are bad to skip a year. My most relilable is Baby Blessed it has been in bloom since mid September and may go until hard freeze. "Hemstitched" is blooming in my garden now, and it has given me continuous bloom for the last 10 weeks. I've given it no extra water or fertilizer.

My goodness! If you are anywhere near Atlanta, that's impressive because I hear it's record dry there. It's been record hot & very dry here, too, and I'm so weary of schlepping hoses around the yard all spring & summer & fall!!!!!!
Yes, Hemstitched is a beauty! I hope it reblooms as well next year. I've heard some rebloomers skip a year.

I'm 65 miles Southwest of Atlanta and we are in the middle of a record drouth. I've not watered the iris, however, but they have endured. My Friend Jonathan has put on quite a show too this Fall, and Double Shot is now in bloom. This is the 3rd year that Hemstitched has given me great Fall bloom.
