Wow-I am such a fan of MA and am happy to see a smaller version to plant in a smaller space. It's on my list! Can I ask you the difference between an eye and a "stalk" on a hosta? I get the idea that an eye is smaller so how would you count eyes on a big plant? Thanks, Mary
Mary, An eye is the pointed form of unfurled leaves that appear in Spring when the hosta emerges. ...also called a nose... so you can count easily the number of eyes before unfurling of the leaves begin. a Stalk refers to the stem that develops during the season and which will end up with flowers...most of the time...lavendar flowers.
How do you get your hostas to look so fake? (and I mean that in the most complimentary way.) Honestly they look like someone set up a shot in a magazine. Amazing!
