Whoo-Hoo!!! I knew it, I knew it. I knew it, but had forgotten until now. So what your neighbor said ( A beautiful single stem pink "lily" comes up around August 20th) when they actually meant a single stem with several pink lily blooms. I am so happy you now know what they are, and that you got pics. Your neighbor was certainly right about their bloom time, so are you going to make her a cake? Did yours bloom, or did you get pics of hers? I took spectacular photos but have to fugure out how to post them on this site. Ok...can you get the pics into the computer? if so, then open up a free Photobucket account and upload your pics to their site....it is fairly self explanatory. Then either copy the HTML code found below the pic (for a regular sized pic (which 'might' end up being huge)and paste it into the message box , or else copy the HTML Thumb code found below the pic and paste it right into the message box. That will make a nice thumbnail pic, that will be clickable if the Photobucket settings are set up right. This is assuming that you are comfortable with having either multiple tabs or multiple windows open at the same time. I tried and tried to help a member post pics and she was having an awful time. Come to find out, she was trying to do it only using one window. Sue...thrilled for ya!

Ooo, thank you everyone. Lots to chew on here! I'm off to research! I don't think I have a horrible BS problem here. I've tested a Zephrini, DA's The Dark Lady, and the HP Baron Girod de l'Ain and they all did fine with some BS but nothing that's knocked them back. Especially last year when I started watering more. Amazing what water will do (rolling eyes at myself). Japanese beetles are a HUGE problem though so I have to bear that in mind. We're chopping our JP magnet plum tree down this year so maybe that'll make a difference. I used to have a list of longer blooming types but it was on my other computer that died. In case anyone is thinking this question sounds familiar, lol. Anyway, again, thanks!

My Heritage's blooms typically lasted a day or two. It was planted deep with good soil and almost all day sun. It got Rose Rosette disease (Witches Broom) so I had to pull it up. Cutting it and bringing the bloom into the house was a different matter than staying on the plant. It shattered in about 1 hour and nothing I tried to slow it down worked. A real pity about Heritage. I keep waiting for a new version of Heritage (like with William Shakespeare) that is an improved version, but I may have to wait in vain.

Well I can think of a few, Siloam Edith sholar has same colors and extended bloom. Then theres Dragons orb which is a salter mini (blooms are smaller than S. ury winniford) which reblooms. Just so you know Pandora's box is registered as a shorter plant than S. Ury winniford too! Then theres moonlit masquerade which will out perform anything but a stella, but it is a bit taller.
