Help needed determining a determinate
Comments (2)The only difference I've ever noticed between my determinate and indeterminate seedlings is that the determinates are smaller, considerably shorter, have smaller stems and leaves but are otherwise very healthy. And let me hasten to add that I only noticed this when I started New Big Dwarfs this year and they germinated at the same time the indeterminates did. It may be only that variety. I imagine that most people will tell you you can't tell the difference between the seedlings until after the plant has grown more....See MoreNeed Help Determining what size Washer I should buy! Thx.
Comments (4)As long as you're here and as long as you're looking for a top loader, I highly recommend the Fisher & Paykel. I don't use a lot of cycles or need fancy electronics, so we got the most basic washer they had that matched the most basic top-loading dryer. We have a family of 10, and also launder comforters, etc. in it. I don't think it's the largest out there in terms of capacity claims, but it does the job for us, and judges how much water to use based on the weight of the laundry, and, I think, how dirty the water is when it's running. Love, love, love it. It's the 2nd F&P set we've had. We had the other for several years in our previous home and didn't move it, because the temporary quarters we lived in while building had a set of its own (Which was a Whirlpool made Kenmore that we hated)...But we loved that previous F&P set also, and that's why we got a new set for our new house. This is the first top-load dryer, though, and I wouldn't want to go back after having it....See MoreNeed Help I moved to zone 6A I need herbs and ideas

Comments (11)I am going to see how the dwarf mondo does, but my backup is going to be Vinca Minor. The biggest issue I've been having with the vinca minor is that since the hill is very steep, the soil around the plants washes away easy and exposes the roots sometimes and I have to go put more soil back around the plants. I also have animals digging up the hillside this fall. I'm guessing squirrels. And they have ripped up some of the plants in the process. I think vinca minor may have been a better choice as it probably would have established quicker and have been stronger. But I really wanted something that looked like grass as much as possible so it blended with the lawn below. I also currently have a bunch of variegated asian jasmine on another section of the hill. It seems to do really well at my location. But the jasmine is full exposed to the sun, and the place where I've been putting the mondo is more shady....so I'm not sure the jasmine would work as well there....See MoreTiffany, purpleinopp Z8b Opp, AL
