Toro v. Honda Mower....please help me chose!
Comments (2)Saxman1, thanks for your reply. I know they are quite different (Toro Timemaster v. honda HRX series) and both have features that interest me...of course my wife is pushing for cheaper, so that is why I am throwing around the idea of a Honda. I have read the 30" Toro handles just like the 21". I was inquiring more about the disengaging of the self propel to turn and maneuver. The personal pace made that quite easy with my SR...I have never used a Honda or their SmartDrive (the self propel I am considering). Can you give me your opinion on the SmartDrive? As for underpowered, I have read some complaints that the Toro 30" should have a bigger engine thus making it underpowered. Any feedback on that note? Many thanks for your response and insight....See MoreHelp me chose floor tile with white subway tile
Comments (5)I like the dark floor tile because it matches with the dark glass tile. I think I saw in one of your other posts that your vanity will be a medium wood tone. All the colors would tie in together nicely. The white subway will keep the room looking crisp. Will you have a tub or shower only? I am also deciding on my bathroom tiles. One of my choices is having the same glass tiles like yours, but with glossy taupe colored subway tiles (matching the other glass tile color). I would like to do white subways like you, but we have a rust problem in our water and I'm not sure if I can maintain white grout/tiles. Do you think taupe subways with your glass mosaics would look ok? Or would the colors blend too much. I really like the white tiles you selected.......See MoreBuying a reliable dishwasher - Help me chose
Comments (6)We purchased a KA KUDS30IVSS in Oct 2009. At first we loved it. Then..... Problems with the plastic detergent dispenser; soap was dispensed erratically and rinse aid marker never budged even as it emptied completely. Entire unit replaced under warranty in June 2010. Same problem reoccurred in December 2010. Erratic dispensal of detergent, same problem of non-moving rinse aid marker began to happen (sometimes it would move, sometimes it wouldn't). In March I gave up and called for repair. Extended warranty service is under A&E. They have an iffy reputation, but sometimes I have gotten good service people, especially on my stove. This time for the DW - nope. The guy ran the test button and said, "See, it works!" I said, "No, it doesn't. I don't care what the button tells you. I run this DW every day, and in the last two weeks it has failed to dispense detergent every single load. I have to re-run the load and leave the soap dispenser open." "Nope, the test shows it works! I can't do anything for you." I said, "Order another unit. I'll pay for the d****d thing. Will there be a labor charge for installing it?" (All smiles) "Oh no! You have the extended warranty, we'll install it for free. Just call for an appointment." The new dispenser seems to be working just fine. My satisfaction with the service people on an extended contract however, is only 50-50. Another issue is the phosphate free detergents, which simply are not as good as the old ones. You may need to futz around with a few brands before you're satisfied with what works best for you. ecf1216 is correct, the KA I have has also gotten noticeably louder over time. Still not as bad our old Kenmore/GE, but definitely 'growlier' than before....See MorePlease help me chose a rose from Roses Unlimited.
Comments (34)Thanks for digging up those photos, Curdle. I think I am gong to be very happy with my CdP. I'm happy to hear your comparison to Yves P. I think they will look lovely together, with Souvenir de la M between them. They sound alike enough to look nice near each other, while different enough to look like two distinct roses. I soooo can't wait for some blooms. It sounds like she is an eager bloomer, so I'm guessing I will have flowers by May. CdP and Sonia Rykiel will be arriving in March, and roses usually get going very quickly here (with a couple of exceptions). I still kind of think of Versigny as "one that got away", but I only have so much space. When/if Augusta Louise becomes available in the US, I will find the space for her. The photos posted on this forum have been incredible! Thanks again. Lisa...See Moreostrich
