Hi Wendy, I have figs rooting at this time. I have red spider lilys, daffodils, and might have a small cutting of red honey suckle. I am interested in your Confederate jasmine, Fragrant star jasmine, daisies (becky & silver princess.)Ck. my list. Some on my list I do not have as of now. I have other plants that are not listed. How interesting! I wonder if it would be hardier for me if I grew it from seed, where I want it to flower. I just mailed you some Dame's Rocket seeds today---wish I'd seen this post first! The only 'unusual' vine seeds I can think of having are a few Carolina Moon Seed. Interested?

Can you find and post a Scientific name and/ or a photograph or link that would show appearance. I have vines, sometimes called jasmine. One has smooth green leaves, pointed at the end, and is covered with buds that should bloom a single yellow in a few weeks. I think it is Gelsimum sempervirens. The other, I just got, blooms on bare green stems late in winter. Ithink that one is called jasminum nudiflorum. The plant does get leaves for the summer.I was looking for this plant, since I had seen it in an abandoned garden nearby many many years ago and wondered about a plant that bloomed so early in the year. I hope someone will correct me if I am mistaken. You should post your question in the vines forum, if you have not done so.

It's one or more of a number of common fungal disorders known to effect a very wide assortment of plants. I've rarelyseen problems with Trachelospermum and from the color of your plant, I'm wondering if you repot (same container but fresh potting mix) and provide routine fertilization. Plants that are grown in less than ideal conditions are unable to muster up the energy reserves required to fend off disease infection or pest infestation. Three of the most common diseases are Cercospora, Alternaria blight, and Phyllosticta. All are commonly called 'leaf spot disease'. If you want to know exactly which might be affecting your plant, you should contact your local extension office and arrange to send samples to plant pathology labs at Clemson. If this were my plant, I'd cut it all of the way to the soil level, or nearly so, pull it out of the container, give it a root pruning, clean the pot, then repot with fresh, coarse textured medium with plenty of bark fines. A visit to your garden center will lead you to an assortment of fungicides. READ THE LABELS to find one that will cntrol one or more of the diseases mentioned above. Do NOT rely on advice from an ignorant clerk who will try to push systemics or unnecessary "3 in 1" chemicals. With improved cultural conditions and applications of the fungicide, you may be able to maintain a nice plant. .
