I actually did a search here on the forum and read a few different responses to my question. Some said okay to October but others said the best month (when plant is most dormant) would be in February. I am in the South and wondered if anyone can help me with this question - Thanks - Carrie

Well, I have read that they can be transplanted pretty well but haven't done so myself before. Regarding timing, as long as it isn't really hot I would go ahead.

I moved them in a late fall and in an early spring and found no difference.
I'd do it in a fall for two reasons:
- in a spring you have to walk on a somewhat wet grounds and will compact the soil,
- in a fall you clearly see where something is/was growing and not step on it while in a spring you don't have those 'markers' (if you clean your beds in a fall).

good idea - I think I will do them in November or late october - If I can recall, I think that is when I did transplant a couple last year and actually got buds this spring. I just couldn't remember what was best - thanks - Carrie

February is ok in Florida (approx Feb 15 is our last frost date) but Fall is better in your zone....yg
