I love purple irises! You have some great ones. I really like New Leaf, your NOID and Ringo. Rio Rojo is a beauty to. I can't get over the fact that you have iris and daylilies blooming at the same time. That picture is gorgeous! Here the foxglove always blooms about a month later than the irises. Marg

Dahlianut; I too live in No. Calif. Planted tubers early May, this is when our hot(HOT) weather started. They just started growing along in Sept., here it is Nov. and I'm just now getting blooms. My Mums did pretty much the same, except I did have good foliage as per schedule. If this weather pattern we've been having for the past 2 seasons continues, I think I'll have to re-think my planting schedules. But to what!?!

Are Early blooming varieties also early to stop blooming?

No- it isn't normal- if you keep them cleaned up & dead-headed they'll bloom until frost no matter when they start. It might help to give a boost of garden fertilizer in July to give them more energy to keep on going. We use 10-20-20 at planting and again in July to spruce them up for shows in August.

Mine are doing some of the same- I've been blaming it on the lack of rain but we did have the early heat and now cooler weather. Blooms are lower than usual, including asian and oriental lilies, some are blooming weird-never fully open and I have one yesterday where the entire flower looked fine except for one mushy ugly petal. It looked like the one petal had bloomed the day earlier than the rest and was dying back while the rest of the flower was fine. Flowers that I have had for quite awhile are shorter than usual and smaller blooms, colors on what few have bloomed not as bright as last year. It's still early bloom season, so I don't have many blooming yet-but they aren't at their best.

LOL Brandon. Why do you think I'm hear asking you all? ;D I can't remember either. I've had to cheat and look at pictures I took. Chris, thanks I hadn't even thought of those. If we do change the date of the tour I wanted to be able to give a list to our members soon so they could plan ahead and maybe get some things in the ground before next spring.

What kind of white mini daisies are these? i want to get some, do you know where i can buy them seeds? The daisies really make the irises pop out.

Thank you. Winnie, the little white daisies are annual flowers. They are called Paludosum daisies, and I plant them from seed.

Awesome! I think I love the first pic of the clump of New Leaf most--such a nice balance with those tall dark flowers at top and the white daisies at bottom. Everything is so healthy and manicured--lovely!

Oh, they are all so very pretty. RIO ROJO is a winner and so is Bayberry Candle.
