I'll bite..:-) Johnny, I usually get mine locally at Worms Way and I pay almost 20 dollars for a 32 ounce..At this rate, if I bought two, it would cost me 40 dollars, plus tax, plus gas, and after all is said and done, I have paid as much as you did....So I would say not to bad... Although, I would still check E-bay for a better deal. As for feeding your trees..If they are in the ground, I wouldn't even waste my time using this expensive product.. In fact, any good compost, organic, slow release, Miracid according to many folks works well for them. In fact, I think they sell fertilizers specifically for outdoor citrus.. I would also use the dilution rates recomended on the packaging since container citrus and ground are completely two different worlds.. I'll bet there are alot of folks here that have inground citrus that are very successful with all kinds of fertilizers for a much better price...I hope they come and help you. The only thing I am not sure of, is if citrus in the ground get enough Ca and Ma, which is in Fp..It is also in Osmocote Plus... I would save your FP for containers... Mike:-)

Ha! Well, after a google, it sure looks like it to me. :) I think that's a very good guess! It does seem to have very hardy foilage, too, something else I read about it just now. A coworker of mine to whom I gave a clump of it last year came in this morning raving about how beautiful it is (first time it has bloomed for her). She mentioned that she couldn't believe how good the foilage looked all winter. I'd never thought about it, but it is true.

If you really like an iris that dies out the first year, I'd suggest trying it again and plant it in a different location. I've tried Batik for 5 years (you'd think I'd give up, hu?) and every year it winter/spring rots on me. However, last year I got 2 healthy rhyzomes from a gal in a trade and low and behold one of them took off and is actually blooming and looking great this year! The other rhyzome looks fine but without all the increases and no blooms. I've also had iris that were planted with all the others (that grow great) and they didn't do much (bloomed close to the ground, not many increases, etc). One of them was Covet Me. Last year I'd had enough babying this one and gave them all away except one that I threw in the ground on the west side of our secret fence. It started increasing like madd and this year has nice tall stalks with lots of blooms. So for me, I've learned that sometimes persistence pays off if you're willing to try new sources and plant in different places. heidi

Isn't it strange how sometimes you can move something about 1 ft and it will do so much better than where it was before? Oh Wow, I just love all of Barry Blyths irises. I only have a few and of course I didn't pay a whole lot for them. If I had plenty of money I'd buy a bunch of them. However, I'm on a fixed income and if I paid $50 for an iris I'd have to do without something I really needed around here. I guess I'll have to continue buying my irises from AIS sales and so forth. I figure I did pretty good considering I would have paid less than 50 cents a piece for all the one's I got last week. That is of course when they were getting ready to close for the day. Although I ended up with over 100 different irises there were several of a bunch of them. I figure I got somewhere between 250-300 iris rhizomes. Anyone want to come help me finish up planting them? I pray my labels from Paw Paws come in today. Just incase they don't I bought 100 of those flags like they mark your phone lines and so forth with. I can at least write the names on there until the labels do come in. I bought alot of bicolored irises this spring. Poem of Ecstasy was one of them. I'm sorry but that just looks like it should be in every womens garden. (grin) I've never heard of Zurbrigg Iris Lee, as ya'll can all see I don't have alot of knowledge about any of the irises.
