Basic q's - Cutting blooms for indoor display

After 3 years of waiting, finally I have blooms of hydrangea blooms popping up everywhere in my garden. I've got white, pink and nikko blue and a deep, dark purple, a total of 8 successful plants (and 3 more recent, yet to be successful lacecap plants).

MY Q - What is the appropriate manner to clip the blooms for indoor display? I want to bring them inside but I'm afraid I will damage the plants future... bloomability.

Thanks!

ps - if this has been addressed before, I'm sorry. I'm new to the site and havn't yet poured through the archive of postings.
