I think plants come out of TC with different characteristics. Don R said his Pride and Joy came out of TC with more narrow margins that it went in with. A few years ago, the Dallas Arboretum had plants supplied by different growers. For instance, there might be a Guacamole from Q&Z and a Guacamole from Abbott IPCO. They weren't exactly the same, nor did they grow the same. That has interested me ever since I saw the difference in those plants. (I've been told it's my imagination, and it's possible it is.) bk

Lovely. Elsa Sass is a beautiful flower. Amber of Pure Peonies was very nice when we traded emails. Apparently, they had a faulty email link and so they never received my first emails asking for the specifics on shipping. By chance, they sent an email when they saw I had cancelled orders when I went through their automated system to determine shipping and certificate fees. She was very apologetic about missing my previous communications. If anyone has tried to email them and didn't get a response, I would suggest trying them again.

Once a few years ago, I went to visit with my DD down in Columbus GA, and went to her semi mega church one Sunday am. I was appalled at the music played. It sounded more like Acid Rock than Praise Music.. and loud.. omgosh... I actually had to cover my ears. And when the preacher got up to preach.. it was all that "feel good" perverted version of the gospel that is now referred to as "Christless Christianity".. If I had driven my own vehicle, I would have left right then and there. That ans the pews were nothing more than bleachers and every time someone got up, we were getting jostled around and well, not a place where I saw much worship happening. So many churches are all about the numbers and how many members they can lure in. I am so happy to go to a church that is about worshiping the Lord and spreading the gospel and having a personal relationship with the Lord. Kitt

You're welcome to come down and work in my vegetable garden with me. lol I have raised beds, with a heavy leaf mulch all winter, but as soon as I raked that away they warmed up quite well and they dry out faster too. I am able to walk around the pathways without a problem, but I'm still avoiding walking in my perennial beds and the lawn. They are thawed, but not sure they are dried out enough everywhere. I live on a small lot and the neighbors have a lot of trees, that are now giving me more and more shade to deal with. I used to be able to grow tomatoes in the back yard fine, but now I only have a 15x20 bed in front that gets full sun and a couple of years ago, I planted the same variety in my veg bed in back and in that front bed. It was amazing that I barely got a dozen tomatoes from the one in back and the front tomato was prolific and about 3x the size. I thought I was getting 6 hrs in the back, but, I guess it's less now. So this year, I've decided to try to focus on crops that are happy with those conditions and I'm growing a lot of greens, lettuces, brassicas. I've done alright with peppers in the back, but they take a long time to produce a good size fruit and they don't ripen the same as the front. And I've about given up on squashes. I have trellises for peas then beans and cucumbers that do fine too. So that is what my seedlings consist of - a couple of six packs of tomatoes and peppers for the front, but lettuces, mustards, brassicas for the back. I'm sure we are going to still get some cold nights, but I think they can tolerate it with some row covers over them.
