another poa annua question

I have posted a need help on poa annua a couple of months ago, and Malory did help me to put a plan to minimize the poa annua next year, but unfortunatley, I cannot find the posting and did not either print. The thing is I can not wait until next fall to apply the Halt to prevent poa annua from germination in spring 2007. The burnd look of the poa annua made my hard work on the lawn goes out the window. I have burned brown spot all over my lawn from the dead poa annua grass. I need the expert help please to see if the following plan will work.

1. aerate this fall and put halt so to prevent poa annua from germination in spring of 2006( when does actuall poa annua germinates? in the fall or Spring)

2. Slit seed in early spring( early April)

3. If Crapgrass turned out to be a problem for me in the summer of 2006, I will have to pull it by hand. But isn't usually if I did not have Crabgrass this summer, it is more likely I will have very little crabgrass next summer if I don't appy Halt in Spring of 2006.

Would this plan work? Please help!!

Thanks again
