I'm certain it's not a rodent. It's on a high shelf in my bathroom- nothing like that could scale tile walls... such a mystery. Also noticed edges of an orchid and another succulent seem to be chewed.

Yep, Dan you are right. I just flipped the light on out on my balcony and sure enough I saw a HUGE mouse or rat run across it. It ran into my storage unit that is connected to my balcony. I'm too freaked out to open that door and see what kind of damage it's done. Yikes! Not sure how to get rid of it/them but hoping maintenance can! Thanks so much as I was on the lookout for those big wood roaches and even put out boric acid. This would explain why I was still seeing the droppings.

Hello, thanks all for sharing their honest concerns and opinions, me as quite newbie diy gardener here in South Eastern Europe country, I'm regularly following your USA and Britain information and guidelines as the pioneers and best organized herbal and horticulture in modern world presently, thankfully available globally for wide education. That said I've read about various regulations state and local (USA,UK) regarding invasive plants, and my point is that even with those public classification from decades of research - one important factor regarding invasive plants spread is not being applied to guidelines and regulations and that is soil type. I mean invasive plants as well as other plants are hardly progressive on clay, rock clay and even loam, so those invasively declared plants (to not name species) are actually not invasive on the mentioned terrains, furthermore those are enriching naturally limited plants environment. For example regarding this topic, I've planted Mimosa Acacia julibrissin 1 foot tall this past spring, and till now late in autumn plant barely grow 5-10 cm(1-2"), and that stands for most other starting plants that sometime later when established get some moderately slow growth, but slow advancing applies to wide varieties - for Eucalyptus that is here from my findings one of the slowest (than elsewhere in the world) with also 5-10 cm(1-2") growth for 6 months. To conclude, invasive plants are replenishing some harder types terrains and improves ecology and do not spread enormously. Best greetings

Bleu_Maples, I'm having the same thing with my new bougies (one of them in particular is more delicious than the others for some reason). Been spraying BT once a week and leaves are still disappearing as soon as they sprout. So, you have my empathy! I can't even find any loopers at night - they're so well camoflaged. Took me a long time to find one, and it was only 1/8" long! (hanging from a thread). Argh! I don't have any other suspects though.
