Captain's Adventure looking right?

I think I have the right leaf pattern showing on at least part of the Captain's Adventure this year. I could not believe it when I saw it. Makes me want to get Tattoo now!

Show us any that have the "tattoo" like design on the leaf. Fascinating when it shows up.

"When it shows up". Ouch. Not a ringing endorsement. I've seen disappointed folks post about this one before.

That's the 'adventure', Captain! ; ) Seeing if it ends up variegated.

It is the first time at my house, for sure. And I don't think the tattoo is on the entire plant. I wasn't looking with both eyes when I took the picture. Only noticed the tattoo pattern when I browsed through the photos adding name tags before uploading to Flickr. Well, what do you know!

It is an adventure, right enough. I know in past discussions folks expressed disappointment with this hosta. I thought it interesting that the tattoo pattern appeared this year after a hard winter (for us) and a wet spring (for us). Musing what might have this effect on the plant.

Something sure kicked it into action. Still, it is not the star of my show. Too little too late for that. I will say, "nice." NOT a ringing endorsement.

And to quote Forrest Gump, "Pretty is as pretty does."

I don't know that mine spreads out, more like it adds non draw-stringed leaves on subsequent flushes. Good grower. Jury is still out on this one for me. First one I received was solid color and was replaced by seller. This solid color CA is attractive with different tones on the leaves. I'll add a picture when I get back to my desktop. Mine has gotten smaller this year, but so have a lot of my hostas. I think it may be stress from the drought and hot temps last year, tree roots, and a move this year with the plant(s) out of the ground for a week or two. I have it in a pot right now, and hopefully I won't have rot issues with it (and the others I had no room for in the ground) come winter. This year I should give it and all of my hostas some fertilizer to help bring them back up to size again. Thankful for the cooler temps this spring compared to last year, and so far more rainfall. You're right, Pam, until I click on his link 'Downloads/' then I find a graphically 'hacked' page! I emailed him about it last night--hopefully, there's a fix for him! I had looked at several other 'clickables' and enjoyed the pix, and then came upon that one! If only such characters would use their intelligence for something good instead of this sort of rubbish, we'd be in a better world! Am I the only one seeing that page on 'Downloads/'?
