Salvia darcyi and 'Cuphea iignea 'David Verity'

S. darcyi has just been loved by the hummingbirds this year, but C. ignea 'David Verity' has been totally ignored.

I planted the Cuphea because I had heard what a great hummer plant it was. This year was a total disappointment. I don't know about hummer plants, but I do know that some years butterflies prefer one plant or another and that varies from year to year. Maybe that is true of hummer plants as well. We will see what happens next year.

The S. darcyi is definitely a fave and I can see why. The blooms are HUGE in terms of Salvia blooms. And the brilliant red color is way out there red!

What have your best attractants been this year?

Susan
