Gorgeous hoyas!! Where did you find those? Love the obovata, and the distance between the nodes seems perfectly normal. Not sure what the ID's are - it may be pretty hard to tell without blooms. The last hoya resembles H. australis, but I'm just taking a stab in the dark. Congrats on your new finds.

I think the last Hoya is H. australis ssp. sana. Leaves are a little fuzzy, a pale green. It's a steady grower, but I've had mine for years with no signs of blooms. Maybe someday **sigh**

They were local finds. There is a nursery on the coast which I go to about every third month, unless he calls me with something that might interest me. He picks up large epiphyllums from Don Cravalho for me all the time. This time he picked me up a bunch epies, 8 in 6 in pots, 2 were 8in (with 3-4 ft branchs) and 1 was 10in, 5 were 4 in.

The 4 hoyas, the dischdia, and a Xerosicyos danguyi were impulse buys while I was there. I picked up the lot of them for about $260 He gave me two of the smaller hoyas and a few of the smaller epies because one was unrooted, another had squirrel damage, He also gives me 15% off.

I go in there and buy about $50-100 of plants every time. He calls me by name and calls when he finds something I'd want and is even willing to hold them. Can't beat the local touch. His hoyas he gets from San Diego and San Francisco.

It really would be nice to have an australis, since thinking I had one all this time and turned out to be verticillata.

Lucky you! I wish I had a local nursery like that. Those really are gorgeous hoyas. Australis is supposed to be a really easy bloomer (my young ones haven't bloomed yet, but hopefully soon!), and the blooms supposedly smell great. Enjoy your new plants :)

ive never owned nor even seen a dischida (lol) so im most likely wrong, but my first thought was d. imbricata. dischidiaguy will know, he has a spectacular collection, and hopefully you dont have to wait too long for blooms to make a positive id. whatever its called, id mount some cuttings of it like he does.

I am looking for some good foliage pics of australis ssp. sana/e whichever is the correct spelling. Thanks for the headsup, I think you might be correct in the ID, but I'm putting a tentative next to it until it blooms.

Thanks for the link. Dischidiaguy already gave me an idea of what it is, I just wanted confirmation. I also have a nice piece of drift wood which would be perfect for some cuttings.

Sorry I don't know your hoya ID's, but they're beautiful, nonethless!

About the 'flies'.
We have a type of parasitic wasp (even though it looks more like a fly than a wasp) that attaches itself to plant leaves.
They are attached to several of my hoyas in late summer/fall.

They attach, 'pupate', lay eggs and die.
Wondering if you have the same type of bug?

They don't seem to do any harm to the plants, but they're yucky, IMHO!

Sorry I don't recall their name. I remove them before I bring them indoors by picking (ick!) or wiping them off.

I don't really know, but a couple of guesses:-
I get the feeling the first hoya is possibly one from the Philippine area, since it has trinerved leaves. The second one, perhaps, may be carnosa? Try looking through the gallery below for some clues.
