Monica- I did not know if you realize that on the Hummzinger feeders the ant moat is in the very center where the brass hanger is attached. You fill that moat up with water and the ants can't get to your ports. Just from reading your post to Steve I got the impression you may not realize where that built in ant moat was located. Pardon me if I miss understood.

    Thanks Vicki, actually I just took it down for cleaning and I realized where the ant moat was from your description on Steve's thread.

    When I first hung it I didn't realize the ant the moat so I went out today and sure enough I had some ant floaters. I did fill up the moat so hopefully that takes care of them.

    I hung both feeders today with fresh water & sugar so I hope to see what happens tonight.

    I did hang one next to the feeder they prefer so hopefully my hummers learn as quickly as everyone elses.
