Question about posting pictures

Hi everyone. I'm confused about posting pictures. I was hoping to post several pictures of the unusual ceramic pot I made for Cardinal Climbers and Cypress vines. I scanned my conventional, non-digital photos, and sized them down in Adobe Photoshop to 9" wide x 6.75" tall, plus made them into jpegs at low quality. This puts all of them below the maximum of 60 kB, so I think I'm technically OK.

What I don't understand is how you post pictures to the "Exchanges" part of the forum as opposed to the "Gallery." Lots of people are obviously posting to "Exchanges," but I can't see how. The forum's instructions seem more geared to doing it in "Gallery," but my original discussion about these pictures was in the "Exchanges" forum, so I'd prefer to post there.

I feel really dumb about this, but I'm confused about why there even are two sections. They don't seem to have much connection to each other. I'm embarrassed to say, I never even think to look at the "Gallery" section!

What should I do, and how should I do it?
