Comments (3)According to the company website, it is only for use around ornamentals. ... "biodegradable repellent is easy-to-apply on and around flower beds, ornamental gardens, ground cover, and lawns". Does the label say the same thing? Don't know of any reason why you couldn't use it around the perimeter OUTside the garden. Comments (13)Ive made lots of diffrent mixes to keep deer and bunnies away.. Ive made it pretty simple now, get yourself a few eggs pop them into your sprayer, mix it up with water and go.. It works just as well as anything else, deer will avoid it while its on. Dont bother with wiltpruf, a fine mist works ok. My best advice for bunnies is to get a cat =).. they like to chase them around. Well some cats.. ours always do anyways, but we have the hunter type cats, that like to bring us dead mice, squirels, chipmunks, snakes, and birds or anything else they can find. So a bunny jumping around is a treat to chase. Silverkelt...See MoreLiquid Fence - - Does It Actually Work?
Comments (8)Liquid fence has worked awesome for me. It lasts from 3-4 weeks unless of course it rains. Then you must re-apply. I had a resident that had 12 eaten hostas, I mean, down to the stem...unrecognizable, and after spraying they returned to their normal foliage. I swear by this stuff. There are other methods that are discussed on the link below. Motion detector sprinklers have been very effective, too. I don't know how you feel about water conservation though, even though it doesn't use very much. Check out this link. Scroll down for "deer population" post. Good luck... Comments (2)My main concern are deer but I also get woodchucks and rabbits. The version of Liquid Fence that I got was for deer and rabbits. I'm assuming it works cuz I haven't seen deer jump the (real) fence to munch on things in the garden and plants along the edges haven't been nibbled on and things inside the garden like a lily that hasn't had a chance to bloom in 4 years because the deer get to it first is about to bloom! I have applied it only twice; on 5/20 and 7/1. Maybe it's just coincidence but I'd like to think it works. I did hear back from the Liquid Fence people and they said it wouldn't be a problem. I'm not so sure I believe them but I am seeing hummers around the monarda so but who knows if they are suffering from any effects after they leave. I only think it might be threat for a day or two after spraying and we're way past that now. I can't smell it anywhere but it's almost inescapable for the first few days. They say it isn't affected by rain....See Moregardenandcats
