ID needed on Green Hosta

This is growing along my fence (neighbor's hosta)I dug up some to put in my small hosta bed a week or so ago and would like to know the name of it. It has been growing there for about 8 to 10 years so I would guess the over all height is around 18 to 24 inches if that helps.

I thought of Teaspoons, but it is unlikely that the seller wouldn't have known what it was--that variety is very distinctive, especially as an immature plant. Can you tell us how much substance it has, and also where you purchased the plant? Too small to be Candy Hearts, which has much larger leaves, even as a young plant, and in three years CH will be 20 inches tall. It doesn't look exactly like my Jade Sceptor, but all the Tiara series is somewhat variable depending on growing conditions, so that is a possibility. It does have some resemblance to Nakiana, but unless you bought it from a hosta nursery or grower, that's unlikely.

Beth- At the HL, click on a letter of the alphabet, then scroll up and down to find the hosta you are looking for, then click on it. Tah Dah! You will see photos submitted by hundreds of people over the years. At the top of the page of the specific hosta you select, will be a link to more info collected from several sources at MyHostas.net. Database. There is also the American Hosta Society Registry, which is searchable, to find the official registration info on a hosta. -Babka

hosta_maker...that was the clue. The pycnophylla flowering habit. I went to the HL and went through the list of "kids". VOILA! Don...hahaha Glad there was an answer at the end!!

It does look like each one of those named. I guess I will have to wait and hope it flowers, to see if that will pin point which one it is.

Break is over so back outside digging and rearranging my hosta bed.

honeybells would require that its flowers be fragrant ...

its NOT royal standard .. not limey enough.. not shiny ....

and since it was growing in a hedge row... aka 'like a weed' ... and never doubt chris... i will go with the green undulata weed .. Undulata Erromena

Ken, my neighbor bought it and planted it there, it is just spreading under the fence. I have mowed it down before. Here are shots from her side of the fence. You are right that it is not shinning and as for the blooms, I have do ideal if they smell or not.

If it blooms early with sparse lavender flowers, at the same time and looking exactly the same as Undulata Albomarginata then that will give you a positive ID.

Ken, yes you are right it was a weed to me. But now that a piece of it is in my garden it has become a hosta again.
