they will all do just fine in your zone ..... with a couple caveats .... first... improve the soil if clay .... we will need to get water through the root zone ... second... see above.. and try to drown them .... third.. if you insist they look great all season .... stay away from white centers, which tend to melt out later in summer in full sun .... but if you can put up with the uglies.. they will grow much faster in the sun ... regardless of the damage .... whichever is worse by late summer... plan to move them in fall to more shade... and blues will grow extra fast.. but will lose the blueness earlier .... NEVER forget.. hosta are ONLY shade TOLERANT .... ken

all fragrant hosta.. like SG and Gauc will take as much sun as you can give them.. and actually need it for best flower production in z5 .... blueness is a wax.. which when super heated in summer followed by a rainstorm.. will wash off.. they will grow faster when green.. but not be as blue ... later int eh summer ... frankly in z5 ann arbor MI .. nearly everything can take full sun.. if you can drown them.. and by the time they get ratty in august.. i dont care ... the best shade.. would be shade only from about 1pm to 4 pm.. just the highest heat of the day .... the further south you go.. the more concern you should have ... just give it a go ...NEVER OVERTHINK hosta... you can always move them next spring if you think they can do better in a better spot... but some of those you picked are big ones 5 years down the line ... and you better place them properly in the first three years.. or you will be renting a backhoe.. good luck ken

Teresa, I am in White Bear Lake, so we're pretty comparable climate wise. Esox--great shot of the most fabulous Sun Power I've ever seen!. Thanks all for your input. I had no idea I'd end up with so many choices. I do have a young Ebb Tide, Nigrescens, and Liberty which I can use. I have many of the other ones mentioned, but they're too established where they are. But it's nice to know how sun tolerant they are. Thanks again. Mary

Deb, fwiw I thought I'd share with you how W and CW have done here. Whirlwind shows absolutely no effects -it is still in a pot but in plenty of direct sunlight. However, Cathedral Windows and one planted Fire Island (approx. a minimum of 6 hours of sun) are the only two hostas in my entire garden to date this season that look actually ugly! Consistent high temperatures and intense sun have bleached out the leaves and in a spot or two parts of the centre have melted out. I didn't have a spot ready otherwise CW would have been moved in spring. CW receives plenty of additional ground waterings. It was a lot better last year in same location - relocation definitely required here.
