Well, it's definitely NOT multiflora/javanica! It could be 'Krinkle 8', a form of carnosa. (Krinkle Kurl is a name some people have used for compacta, which is more commonly called Hindu Rope, or Rope Hoya...) I would say that's a safter assumption than anything else at this point.

Oh Lord, I hope not..When I sent the multiflora cutting, it was from a multiflora..it's possible I threw in Krinkle, too, but can't recall..the day we went to the PO was hectic..Rain and more rain..in fact, we had T-storms that day..Of course, I decided to go and, BOOM, a downpour.

If your plant is Krinkle, do you want another? I can't tell..it looks like krinkle in one way..But the marks look more like lines than dimples.

Ok, I just looked more closely at the other two leaves and they aren't dimpled like the little one, it does look like lines in photo, but it is indented.

You sent the one in the pic, along with another cutting that didn't make the rooting process, not sure why since both were planted in the same pot. Both cuttings looked exactly the same though.

Anyway Toni, you don't have to send me anything.I can buy a multiflora when my b-day comes around.

Plants are ALWAYS a nice "I'm getting that plant" present for yourself, lol.
I'm curious now as to what this one here will look like as it grows.

Billy, I'm confused. I thought you said the H.multiflora cutting I sent rooted? No?
Speaking of buying a new one..lol..a seller on Ebay had a really nice sized multiflora with a trellis for 7.99...I bought it, ASAP..The multiflora from the cutting I gave you is taking forever to grow. sigh. Since mulitflora is one of my fav hoyas, I had to have it, and what great price!
If you'd like, I can check to see if this seller has more..LMK.

Ok, in a nut shell, instead of getting a krinkle from you in the first trade (a couple yrs back)I actually received a reg carnosa with smooth leaves, then, I was sent krinkle in the second trade, not a multiflora as I just discovered. I thought the leaves didn't look right, I know for sure now it's not multiflora.

I just wanted to add, that it's ok about the plants you sent, it's fine:O) Maybe both times the cuttings were meant for someone else??? Like I said, it's fine though.

I really can't get any new plants right now because money is tight this month, maybe next month I will look into getting a few more new hoyas.
You bought Hoya sigillatis huh? That's a pretty one which I have debated about getting a few times, but ended up getting something else. That one is nice though with it's narrow splotchy leaves.

Toni, look at the top photo of ks-girls pictures above, what looks like lines kinda on that closest leaf are really indents like mine, which was the last cutting you sent.

Billy, that IS strange. My multiflora had two 'trunks?'..I cut one of the stems and sent to you...the hoya multiflora? was purchased from cowboyflowerman..u know him right?
It's possible I also added Krinkle, but I can't recall for sure..
Krinkle, from the pic I posted in another thread, is the only indented leaf hoya I have..most others are common. Actually, I dont have many varieties. And one stem from the hoya marked multiflora is missing the stem I cut for you..lol
BTW, other than you, it's been years since sending anyone a hoya cutting. This is confusing..Toni

I really like this one even if it's a more common one.

Mine has stems around 5' long or more and I have them just draped over my hanging rods and hanging down.
It just keeps blooming, as soon as one set of flowers fall off it forms more buds.

Let me just say, I don't want anything else, what I have is fine.

You did send me two stems of krinkle (most recent) both cuttings were exactly the same though, no differences in the leaves. I thought right away that the leaves didn't look like the multiflora I had, but I wanted to wait and see if they changed as the cuttings grew. As I mentioned, I lost one of the cuttings.

Ok, now I'm confused, lol. I don't know what happened either Toni, I mean, I'm sure you put the multiflora in a box, maybe just not mine, lol, lol, lol. It's no biggy, I like both the krinkle and the smooth leaf carnosa you sent, both have rooted and are doing good. The krinkle has a new leaf and the smooth leaf carnosa is really taking off now, it has new leaves, and a long bare stem that's trying to find something to wrap around:O) that one, (smooth) was sent like two years ago.

Billy, you bet your butt this is confusing..lol..When I send out more than one package of cuttings, I do one box at a time.
I also write a list with names and which cuttings are going to whom. After I wrap the cutting, place in the box, I scratch it from my list, and continue on.
The day I sent the multiflora, it was a rush job..pouring rain and dh helped..I am wondering if he accidently put your cutting in another box..he won't rememeber so there's no sense asking..besides, he doesn't know a hoya from a dandilion. lol. So, it's possible he placed your cutting in someone elses box..darn. I really wanted you to have that cutting..sh*t..lol..sorry..

But this upsets me because my multiflora had two stems. I cut one off, almost entirely. I know it's a multiflora cause it has bloomed, and we cannot mistake multiflora flowers..I wonder who ended getting the multiflora.

Hey, stuff happens, it's fine, really, no need to feel bad.
I have to admit, one time I had re-opened a box that was all ready to go to the PO, that meant taking all the tape off (rippong the box) and then dumping out all of the packing peanuts making a mess. Good thing I checked, because I had the wrong shipping label on some else's package! Things like that do sometimes happen. I could have easily just sent it out.

The plants look great! Seeing that you posted pictures of them, here's what the flowers will look like for the first plant (bumpy one) I can't recall the name, other than it's a gasteros/haworthia hybrid of some sorts. I'm sure I told you what the name vefore right?
It can grow more then one flower stem at a time, sometimes as long as 2'-3'long.
Let the flowers fall off naturally and you might get a baby or two in it's place!

Who ever got the multiflora cutting might not even know what they have, at least for the time being that is, lol.
I won't need any cuttings, can't think of anything at the moment, but thanks for asking.

The long stem and the way the flowers are attached in rows do look similar to an aloe. The ones on the haworthia/gasteria look more fatter, kinda like a goldfish plant fatter, and they hang downward.

Plant Latin translation (sort of, since I don't speak more than Gardener Pidgin) of Gasteria is 'fat belly'. The first flower pix do have some Gasteria in them.

These aren't as big of sluts as orchids, but aloe's, haworth's and gasteria regularly have big old 'sex parties' resulting in some Very Interesting offspring and family trees!!!

Billy, you are absolutely right..Someone probably got the multiflora, didn't know what it was, was too shy to ask, and most likely, well, let's say it's now in hoya heaven.

I admonished my dh Saturday..lol..Even though he was trying to help, I'd bet he placed your multiflora in another box. (Because he was in a hurry, rushing me) I told him, next time, if there is a next time, I'll pack plants, although I appreciate your help..he felt hurt, I'm sure, but also a tad angry..When he suddenly had a 'tude', I told him he's an old grouch..lol..that really pissed him off.

Today I got one of two shipments from Aleyagarden. One Hoya sigillatis. Its colors are striking. Got a few Aglaos and another variegated Adenium. lol..
And 3 more Hoyas on the way..After this, I'm on standstill until next spring.
Problem is, there's a few plants on Ebay I'd like..too bad shipping is so expensive..Darn..a plant can cost 2.99, but when they add S&H, invoice comes out to 10.50..
