Cluster of leaves on a stalk?

I ran across several fairly large Paul's Glory hosta today. One plant had what looked like a flower stalk coming up out of the middle, but on top was a cluster of several hosta leaves. It was very symmetrical, almost like what you see on a poinsetta plant. The cluster was above the "normal" leaves, pretty tall. At first I thought some other plant had snuck into the pot by accident, but on closer inspection it was coming right out of the center of one plant. I've never seen this before. Is it good, bad, bizarre, worth going back to the store and finding a place for it in my garden? I almost bought it, but don't really have room. Of course if I NEED it, I CAN make room, LOL!
