kentiana/wayetti and sap...

Hi Everyone,

I have an interesting dilemma. I have a fairly new kentiana/wayetti that I have been keeping an eye on. When I brought it home it was filthy so I did my best to clean it off, it looked like bird poop and water stains. It came pretty clean, I decided I would shower it next time it needs water. I didn't get that far. I checked the plant on Monday and it was covered in what looked to be sap spots. I checked every ounce of the plant; no mealies, no scale, no mites, nothing the eye can see, and not sticky. I sprayed the plant with alcohol to be on the safe side. Checked it again the next day, couldn't spot any pests but saw another stain that looks likes the plant's sap. I am going to continue the alcohol regiment to be safe but I guess my question is: Can this plant just bleed if there are no noticeable wounds? Does the new growth leak sap? I wouldn't say that the plant is in the best shape (I like picking up the underdogs) but it is definitely putting out new growth.

Thanks for the input,

Cassidy
