How wide should the hole be?

Hey y'all--forgive me, please, if this has been covered already... I've read that the hole for new hostas should be 2 to 3 times the width of the hosta when it reaches maturity. Is that so? I can understand that for the small to medium ones, but do you really need to dig that size of a hole for the ones that are supposed to reach 60-62 inches wide??? I am new to hostas, but just recently received Krossa Regal, Regal Splendor, and Sun Power (along with Guacamole, June & Fair Maiden) and I understand these get up to 62 inches wide at maturity. Please advise!!

Thank you!
