I'm w/ Mike on this from the flower description. Ceropegia woodii blooms are small white, pink or lt. purple rather phallic-looking blooms (excuse me, but they are); I've had them bloom in white (slightly smaller than an inch long) & have seen the lt. pink/purple blooms on the varigated version, but never seen red Ceropegia blooms. I'd agree abt Dischidia, maybe searching for blooming Dischidia images would show it, but from the description, color & size as well it sounds like it. I've seen blooming Dischidias in both white (D. picta I think) & red, maybe D. phillipenses. Also, the mention of the inflated leaf, golf ball size is something I've read happens in some Dischidias, those I believe are sometimes referred to as Ant Plants. Actually there's a Hoya Forum post that shows the small red bloom, I'll check & if I find it I'll post back.

I know you know. I also know you sell on eBay, right? I used to as well but its just a lot more trouble than its worth (for me anyway). I find eBay to be very "Buyer Beware". A lot of people actually have no idea what they are actually selling. I have a very very small list of sellers who I trust and know they know what they have is right. I buy aroids from 2 eBay sellers ONLY, both are members of the IAS (International Aroid Society). I trade pretty regularly with one of those folks as well.

There are some very interesting Dischidia species out there but they are not the easiest plants to find for sale. There is one place in the U.S to get the more interesting species and some Hoyas as well. Dischidia major and Dischidia hirsuta are at the top of my list of cool Dischidias along with the shingling species. I figure if the blooms are going to be small you may as well find the strangest or most appealing foliage so that the plant is still as appealing as possible when not in flower. Laura, I'm scared too lol Every Hoya I bring out of the greenhouse is trying to do this. Its going to overwhelm me soon, I'm sure.....my pecan tree and my neighbor's pecan tree are fully leafed out and have made my yard perfect for growing Hoyas. Dabbled sunlight, shade with humidity and nice air movement as well. Wish it was like this yr round :)
