Hoya obovata blooming

My obovata, which I grow most of the year inside and under lights, is blooming. I wanted to put it outside for the summer, but will that disturb it's blooms? It's only starting to bloom.

I don't think it would disturb them, but most Hoya blooms don't last thaaaat long. I haven't bloomed this particular one, but I'm thinking you have a week or less of this particular umbel blooming, then you can scoot it outside and wait for the next blooms. :)

Thank you greedyghost, this is the first bloom I've had in awhile, and I didn't remember if they are sensitive to moving. It really is quite nice! And there are two more umbels getting ready!

I had recently bought a large established carnosa 'tricolor' only because it is getting ready to bloom. It has at least like 5 peduncles, 1 of which is large and probably going to produce this spring when it warms up again. But i'm worried about it dropping the peduncle. I've had that issue with my multiflora getting pissed and dropping whole peduncles after a move outside. So far the tricolor seems to be unsure what it wants to do with the barely developing buds... fingers crossed they stick around!

So pretty. Question: is merrilli an early bloomer? I got one last year that's putting out new growth and i was wondering how quickly they bloom. I bought it from yellowgreen2u so it was a nice size when I got it. TIA.

Sometimes Hoya tips will die back like that, usually no big deal if it's just a single one. Normally I just clip off the dead end & it usually restarts. Nothing to be concerned about. Yes, that is a peduncle, congratulations! I believe repotting now will disrupt its blooming. I'd keep your care the same now & try not to change anything. Enjoy. ETA: Your plant looks very healthy, hope you'll share the blooms when it happens.

Hoya obovata is not sensitive to moving at all. It is one tough cookie, and can take pretty much whatever you can throw at it. Congratulations on the beautiful blooms.

GG, it's hard to say what it smells like, but it isn't very strong. Here is a photo of it after I brought it outside with some of it's friends.

Very nice, fuschia centers! My standard obovata does not have such bright centers:

I see yours is the silver flecked clone, and I do have that one now and it has peduncles on it. Maybe it will have those brightly colored centers!
