Red Volunteer ideas

Hello! New to the site and it is wonderful btw! I somehow got lucky and was sent a red voulnteer daylily as a bonus to an order I made:) Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure what to do with the lil guy but am excited to give daylilies a try.

I read that it requires sun but also saw someone post that they have had luck in part shade. If someone could confrim this, that'd be great. My front is shade so I don't think that will work. In the side yard I am planning on planting an incrediball hydrangea (new to her too) in the next few days, by herself, this area gets morning sun. Do you think the reds would thrive in the morning sun and look nice in front of the hydrangea? Or my other option is to grow in a container on the back deck with everyone else in full sun.

Sorry, I'm not very familiar with lilies growth (well I'm new to the whole garden thing). Although, I am excited by the great reviews of this type:) Any suggestions and ideas are greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!
