Hey. Thanks for the opinions on the fantasy violets. Now I have a mystery to solve. I have these two fantasy violets.....'Amour Elite', and 'Suncoast Paisley Print'. The flowers are next to identical,I looked up the description online and see the flowers, they look almost identical, so I figured the leaves would break the tie. But it didnt. The descriptions both say they have 'plain green' leaves. Something to that effect. But both of my plants have red backed leaves, the 'Amour Elite' has very frilly leaves, and the 'Suncoast Paisley Print' has red backed much plainer rounder leaves. In the descriptions for both,it does not say that either have red backed leaves. OR that one has frilled leaved. So..I am stumped. I bought from people I know are reputable,they know their violets, but I either mixed up the tags on the plants, or I have some kind of 'sport'??? Anyone grow both or either,and maybe can add to the description for me, so I can solve this puzzle? Thanks

Nevermind everyone....they look nothing alike.....oooops.

I ordered a Paisley Print Friday to console myself. I have long been intrigued by the beautiful white patterns on the inside coupled with the wavy edges. I will remove most of the soil from Wheee!'s former pot and replace it with fresh soil. I wonder how I can improve the pot conditions to ensure that the new Paisley Print will thrive in this pot. I have potting mix in the pot now. Should it be garden soil? The 18" pot of mini hostas right next to the Wheee!'s pot had 3 of the 4 minis come through the winter just fine. Only Holy Mouse didn't seem to make it. I will leave it at 3 minis in that pot to give them room to really grow. Country Mouse still isn't up (in the ground). Neither are First Mate and Gypsy Rose. Otherwise, everyone else is pipping.

northern Ohio but am rated as a zone 6A and my L.Paisley Print is a late riser for me. Its pips are up about three inches and are just starting to open while Surrounding Hostas are already starting to leaf out nicely. Be patient, I think it'll come for you especially since it was just planted last Fall.
