Does Candy Hearts produce seed?

The registration sheet says is doesn't produce seed.

The Hosta Library page for Candy Hearts says, "The tubular flowers are light lavender, striped, and there is no seed set."

In The Hosta Journal, 1999, Volume 30, Number 1, page 45, James Hoteling reported that Candy Hearts did not set seed in his garden.

And, there is not even one seedling listed for Candy Hearts in the MyHostas Database or in The Hostapedia.

BUT...

According to The Hostapedia, page 166, "many seed pods develop".

And in the same Hosta Journal article mentioned above, Clarence Falstad reported that 75 - 100 percent of the flowers formed seed pods in his garden.

So...

Who's telling the truth? Or are there two different Candy Hearts out there???
