Hi Paul,
I've had trouble w/ 'Dawes'. It may do better in a warmer climate. I am not sure if any sizeable ones are available yet.

In "our" zone , I seem to have better luck w/ white centered plants if they are at least three years old. Even then, some don't want to appear the next spring.

Be careful of 'Gypsy Rose'. Most are infected.

Paul,I never order online,due to getting a bad order several times. I want to pick out my hostas in person. As for your selections,I have several of the ones on your list;including-Kiwi Full Monty,Gypsy Rose,and Ginsu Knife,of which I got Gunsu Knife directly from Bob Solberg himself. They are all great. Kiwi Full Monty is a vigorous grower,and looks good all the time. I would pass on Cascades. It just faded away for me,and never came back. Just a few thoughts. Phil

Let me check-am I breathing? Yes. Then, I absolutely have ordered for spring planting! I have a pretty large order coming from Naylor Creek and a small one from Bridgewood gardens here in VA:
June-although I did plant one in the back yard, I ordered one for the front, too, in case the galloping gardeners have destroyed the first and I do love this one!
Tambourine-may not be anything special-we'll see-a lot like some others.
Yankee Blue-looks wonderful-hope it is!

Rain today and expected tomorrow as well. Two more weeks of school until break and am hoping to be out planting then!

Kiwi Full Monty - you'll NOT regret this one. It's a very much more robust 'Strip Tease' kinda plant. More blue, here's to you!

Ginsu Knife - UK HostaMon would like this. It's a fun one.

Hollywood Lights - yup, a nice one, full!

Korean Snow - very interesting and 'tuff' substance, good choice!

Spritzer - nice, but not exactly slug proof, somewhat light substance. Still, it's refreshing and we're glad we have it.

Savannah Supreme - A very interesting streaky plant, too bad it's pretty much sterile. I'd LOVE it if not so, as it would be such a wonderful pod-parent. Alas, not so, but it's so beautiful that we have several.

You are gonna SO like Pineapple Upside Down Cake! We have one in heavy shade and one in heavy sun, both fun, and so different, such as our sun n shade Paradigm, Liberty, June, and Salute, to name a few...

Abba Dabba Doo (thanks to hostahillbilly's pics) - besides the pics, believe us, this cultivar is probably the fastest grower here, even in heavy shade. Do yourself and it a big favor and bury a soaker seeping hose around it. I'm pretty sure it is impossible to overwater it. When it does get a lot of water it really 'stands up' in the traditional 'vase-shaped' form, pretty!

Whirlwind - My wife teases the heck outa me every time we go on a hosta run because I always exclaim, 'Hey, Hon, lookie here!' when I come across this cultivar. Even though it's not a BIG one or a fast grower, it must be one of the ones that qualify for the 'ten yard' rule, or however that goes. Anyway, it is distinct, and everyone should have one, sorta like H. 'June', eh?

Yep! Already received 40 "roots" about 2½ weeks ago. All minis. Placed them in a climate controlled room (72°F, 50-60% RH), in a sunny window, with about 4 hours of midday sun and with daily watering, they shot up like a rocket!
Did the in & out routine for a week and with nighttime temps now in the 40s, they remain outdoors. Foli'age still tightly curled, but with daytime temps rising into lower 70s this weekend, that should tempt them to begin unfurling.

Another order of 35+ due next week. That will probably be the extent of MO Hostas this spring. Need to support my local vendors and retain a few $$ for the Convention. I always find a few goodies there, that I just gotta have!
