Kelly I would love to get my hand on the speckle lacunosa. Every time I go cross broader shopping I look for one. I also have H.Bella that always has buds and then they yellow and fall off. One day I guess.
OH My GOSH Kelly, that speckled Lacunosa is gorgeous, I'd never seen it in bloom before. Everything else is lovely too, but I lust after speckled Lacunosa!
Sorry, I haven't had a chance to get back to you, I see you've found how to amend your info. to reflect location. I did look w/ an eye towards responding to you, but you beat me to it.
Just read your profile -- aquarium water, that's why they're all bloomin' their fool heads off for ya. I'm soooo jealous! Nicely done!!
Granted I'm still sort of new to hoyas, but I'm totally stunned to have 6 currently in bloom. Hoya vitensis now has buds forming on 3 peduncles, brevialata appears to be budding up for the second time. Keep watching fungi as it threw out a peduncle a couple of months ago... This has been such a fun surprise!
Wonder if the aquarium water does have something to do with it? I should test the water parameters!
Between lacunosa and nummularioides the scent is a little overpowering this evening....
Nae, it's well worth the wait! This is a first for me!
So how long have you had these hoyas Kelly, and did you start them from cuttings or did you buy then as plants? Cause they are definitely worth the wait!
These are all Exotic Angel plants, so the baskets are full. I think I've had lacunosa and nummularioides since 2007 - both of those have bloomed before. I've had bella 'Luis Bois' since last August or September - that's my favorite of the three! The foliage is just so bright!
You guys are lucky - I have never seen Exotic Angel plants out my way. I have to either order in from Pike Lake or David Liddle - wish I could just go to the store and pick them up!
Golden - I can't walk into any of my local garden centres or supermarkets and find Hoyas either, so you're not alone. I did use to have a garden centre that stocked the variegated Hoya carnosa, carnosa and australis, but I moved away from there. Now I have to wait until they're advertised on Ebay. I'm quite excited because it's started to be time for them to come back online and I've spotted one I want! Must remember to not spend all my money on plants... ah well!
And I've never seen a European order to David Liddle - I'm sure they happen, but I've never been involved, so I'm not sure whether I'll ever get a package of plants from Australia!
Golden I feel your pain.Living in Canada its next to impossible to buy hoyas.Check out eBay, There's a guy from Thailand that sells hoya world wide. I have not brought from him personally but I think some from this forum has, maybe they will chime in. I go shopping 1 or 2 times a month a cross the broader and I see EA plants almost all the time.Good luck in finding hoyas. This addiction can get very bad. Some times it all I think about.
