Oh Holy Cow! Maryott's Lord of Riches bloomed!

I got my order from Maryott's (my first ever) on August 22. I have four that have scapes on them - How Beautiful Heaven Must Be, Spacecoast Sharp Tooth, Pandora's Treasure!!! and Lord of Riches all have scapes. Incredible.

Anyway the first of the buds on Lord of Riches opened today and I'm blown away. What a treasure! I LOVE Maryott's!!!

I just had to share cause I'm so excited!

Debra - great photos as always! How did I miss this the first few days?? I finally got my hands on a piece (seriously, one fan) of ROMAN COHORT and it sent up a scape. The flowers were beautiful, just like your photo (I'll try to post it on here later). My TRUE NORTH looks identical to yours... nice to see consistency. I LOVE the purple wire edge and the way it ruffles. WILLIAM AUSTIN NORRIS is another that I put in the garden last fall. Isn't the color just incredible? Hard to capture how it just glows. Lusting for your REDEFINED DESIGN again! You've got to stop posting - our taste is exquisite and you're tempting me!!

good moring everyone!!! I dislike deer!!!! now I got that off my chest!!! Dot you caught me!!!! I'm soooo hooked it's sad!!! My dog show friends think I've gone lunie and I have. Lunie for Daylilys!! Dl are just the PERFECT flower and plant! Not to many I don't like---the forms,color and their whole being is just "way past kool" I just bought one name that! ---on top of everything some have pedigrees too! Nicole, You must have been able to intuit my tastes in plumeria, because of all of JJ's plumeria--and he's got seemingly hundreds--Jenny is one that I covet most. Yours is lovely! Great choices, too :) LH, as Jen pointed out, looks a lot like Waimea. But regarding Waimea on eBay, if you are patient and willing to bide your time, you will be able to find a good price on it, I would think. Over the course of 2011 there were quite a few for sale. I didn't see MR when I was down there last--Carol and Luc rave about it, I'm sure with good reason. As for the Thai, I'll have to look at the photo again...that's the problem with those letter-number names... Just "hollah" anytime you need my Enabling powers! LOL I intend to post pics of every bloom I get this season ;)

I have loved growing plants since a young age too.......my first recollection was at 6 or 7 rooting cuttings of Wandering Jew I found on the floor of a retail store. After that I wanted to root/grow every plant (and still do!)! As a kid I remember my aunt had a bunch of plain green Sansevieria 'hahnis' in drinking glasses and other containers throughout her house and I thought it was neat how they formed "pups" around the mother plant. Of course it was the Internet that exposed me to the many different wonderful cultivars and species of Sans. I don't have a greenhouse or sunroom, and do occasionally have to travel for work, so Sans are perfect as they can take periods of neglect and seem to forgive me if I get them outsidee in the summers. BTW, I love Hermines sense of humor and writing style. I used to be a member of "the other list" but no longer active there. I was dissapointed that Hermine did not fulfull her side of a trade with me but then I have met more than enough more than generous people on these forums. I don't think she did it purposefully either but she keeps herself spread thin! I always like seeing Norma's posts and she has a LOT of experience and wisdom to share. Russ H I have not seen for ages but he is a man of great Sans wisdom, knowledge, and experience. Mike LF is another that posts here on occasion and grows GREAT Sans. Stush it has been a pleasure "meeting" you in recent time and of course all the posts by PG and Greg and all the others here (if I missed you don't take it personally). Look at the old posts by Joe DeRosa. I enjoyed meeting Joe and trading some plants with him (he lives local and shared common interests) but he appears to have "dissapeared". Glad to see so much more action (relatively) on this forum lately!!!

Absolutely stunning flower! I can see why you are so excited!

There aren't enough good things that can be said about Maryotts. I have been ordering from them for several years, and have not only never been disapointed in the plants that I have purchased, but have always been absolutely thrilled with the generous bonuses. I made my fall order late this year, so only have one scape coming up on mine... might get to see Volusian Spider if the weather holds. It will be thrilling if I don't have to wait until next year!

Tis a beauty no doubt. My question is regarding what camera you use. I have a digital that came over on Noah's Ark. So it's about time I start asking questions and find me a decent small digital camera that takes great shots with very little work on my part.

What kind of camera did you take the shots with? If anyone else has had great success with their digital cameras please share your information with me. I'm looking for a small digital camera. I don't want the bigger bulky cameras.

PS. Marian, my Olympus camedia digital camera is idiot proof: i just push the focus button to flower as opposed to tree, point and click.
