Hoya compacta bloom. This Hoya was not in good condition and to rescue him I put a rope in clay balls with water and in a little aquarium for light and warmth.
And now he is ok, I will show you a pic of my babies in aquarium.French way is "passive hydroponie" is it the same in english ????
Your blooms look very different than any pictures I have seen of compacta and mine have never bloomed yet. Your pictures look like australis with the pointed corolla petals, that is a very good photograph.

Gene, yes, it's the same in English: 'passive hydroponics.' People also talk about 'semi-hydroponics,' or 's/h,' which, as I understand it, is one type of passive hydroponics. I am definitely not an expert in this area, but I am very interested in it. I'm including a link to an explanation of s/h on the GW Orchid forum.
I just put my own compacta into Hydroton (clay pellets) yesterday. It was looking terribly shriveled in soil, despite regular watering. I put it into clay pellets in a plain-old planting pot and stood the pot in an inch of water...and within a few hours (really!) the plant was noticeably less shriveled. It looks much better today - almost back to normal.
I did the same thing with my caudata yesterday. It was looking unhappy, too. I haven't seen as dramatic an improvement in the caudata, but I'm hoping. I think it might be my favorite hoya and I'd hate to lose it.
This is an experiment for me - I'm just starting to use Hydroton. I'd be very interested to see pictures of your aquarium. Do you find that this is a good way to rescue plants? Do you grow hoyas and other plants in hydroponics permanently, or just until they've regained their health?
Lovely photo of the compacta bloom. Thank you for posting it.
