Starting a hoya on a trellis

Hello!

With the exception of a couple of EA plants and a few others, most of my hoya's are single rooted cuttings that I would like to start on trellis'. I've read through through the "New Hoya Trellis Idea" as I will be making my own. Thought I remember reading at some point Denise saying she found her hoya's didn't like to have the growing tips clipped facing downward - that it seemed to make the growing tip die off. Does any one have any other tips or do's and don't's for using a trellis?

Thanks in advance for suggestions!

Kelly

p.s. My hoya nummularioides has little buds all over it! Very exciting!
