Have you refreshed the soil? I see that you repotted it 7-8 years ago, but I hope you have changed the soil since then. Do you fertilize? Make sure you are not trimming the vines, as that is where the peduncles grow (those are what the blooms grow from...sometimes they are easy to miss). Maybe you are letting it dry out TOO much. What kind of hoya is it (some hoyas like to get watered when dry...but not starving dry...and some hoyas like to stay constantly moist). A picture of it might help. Does it look healthy and is it growing? Also, what kind of soil is it in (hoyas like a loose, fast-draining mix). If it's hanging in an east-facing window and getting good light, then it shouldn't be a light issue. Any cold drafts near the window?

Those are all the things I can think about for now.

Gabi pretty well covered most possibilities that come to mind. I'd say the first & most likely is new mix, then fertilizer. All Hoyas would appreciate that, esp. if the mix is even a third that old!

thanks for your help , if I give it new mix should I also put it in a new pot that is what I did befor , I also think maybe I have let it get to dry a lot, I have tryed to be better lately but not over watering I will try to send a picture, as it has never bloomed I don't know what color or shape the flowers are Marg.

You don't need to put it in a new pot unless you want to go bigger or smaller in size. Just change the soil.

To post a pic, just do a search on here for how to post one and you'll get full directions. But here's a short description: upload your picture to an online album (I use Photobucket.com - it's free). Then copy the tag line (the middle line under the picture) and paste it on your post. When you preview the post, you'll see the picture.

Looks like a very healthy hoya. My first guess is H. pubicalyx, but it could also be H. carnosa (the narrow leaves lead me to believe it's the former though). Either way, both these hoyas like to dry out, but when I say "dry out" I mean that you should water as soon as the soil becomes dry...don't let it STAY dry.

Also, I'm still wondering about whether or not you're fertilizing, and what kind of soil mix you use. When you repot, I would definitely use a fast draining mix. For example, I use regular potting soil, orchid bark, and perlite (equal parts of each).

That's a beautiful healthy hoya. Beside changing soil & fertilizing it may need more sunlight to flower. Gradually so the leaves wont burn. I think it's pubycalix too.

It looks like pubicalyx 'Pink Silver' which is one I find takes a long time to bloom. Mine probably took 8 years, and it didn't bloom until I got my GH and it went out there. Does it hang very close to a window, and what exposure? I have another large one that's in my dining room that grows beautifully, but isn't showing any signs of blooming - just not enough light, I'm sure. It's in an east window, which I find ideal for Hoyas, but just not quite sufficient to get blooms on some of them. South is probably better for blooms, but I don't like the way a southern exposure washes the color out of the leaves, so I wait patiently for them to bloom in east or west windows...

Have you ever put your Hoya outside on a covered porch in summer? They do well in a shady spot outside in summer, as long as you keep them watered good. Sometimes, a summer outside will kick-start them blooming.
