Toads and Slugs

I did not want to bury this in the other thread that was discussing slug resistant hostas.

Get some toads for your garden. They will eat the slugs and other insects. I saw a toad in the tree line at the bottom of the hill about 5 years ago. I brought him up and put him in the bed on the side of the house. I now have several toads and have not seen a slug for several years. Two years ago I noticed my cats crouching around a cluster of potted up hostas I had on my patio under my deck. I caught a glimpse of what I thought was a small rabbit between 2 of the pots. I brought the cats in and moved the pots to get a better look. It was one HUGE toad! I didn't know they could get so big.
