I've found new scapes on Exotic Love, Cosmic Hummingbird, Siloam Sunday Music, and a couple others whose names escapes my memory at the time. :) If this keeps up, I'll have blooms into October!!!

Cosmic Hummingbird is on it's second set of reblooms scapes and it was, and always is, my first one to bloom each year.

Thats great, Jan.I looked today for rebloom scapes,but so far only have some on Buttered Popcorn and Pardon Me. Post more pictures when they bloom,so we can see them, too.

Jan, that's great! I have scapes, ( probably a bloom tomorrow ) on a 3 of my new ones that I got this spring. Tony Likes It didn't bloom in the spring though so I am axious to see what the bloom looks like in real life! Hehehe!! I still have a couple that was blooming last week still going... MY IP has been down. Actually, not the IP but the cable on the pole has corrupted connectors so I haven't been able to get on line...I hope you all missed me!!! Ellie

They obviously don't know what they're talking about. They say that electric cooktops produce less vapor and smoke than gas cooktops. While gas cooktops generate more heat, the amount of vapor and smoke depends on WHAT you're cooking, not the fuel source.

I think there was a similar law in force some years ago re keeping clear title to nonpublic rights of way on even government properties. When I lived in Halifax all the uncontrolled roadways through Navy or other such Federal property would be closed one day a year by public notice and barriers set up to stop all foot or vehicle traffic to demonstrate possession and exclusive control. Don't think the city's lawyers or anyone else ever got close to grabbing anything before the law was changed.

Christopher - Sounds like you did just the right thing to bring back your soil. A no till garden is what I was aiming for but I am on a 1/4 acre with a lot of trees surrounding me within 5ft of my lot line, so as far as I could get away from the tree line, didn’t help. I built raised beds and I cover crop and add organic matter as mulch as well. The problem is the tree roots grow up into my beds. I dig them out in the spring and have to pull out roots - it’s a big job. Then the next spring, the beds are full again and I have to do it all over again. I’m at the end of the life of my wooden beds and I’m planning to try something new next year. Large containers that the roots can’t grow up into. Maybe like a water tank for livestock. I don’t like growing in containers but I haven’t come up with any idea to deal with the tree roots otherwise. What does growing potatoes do for turning over the soil? I don’t grow corn, not enough room and I have part sun, not full sun. I only have one 15x15 bed that is in full sun and I grow a few tomatoe and pepper plants with my perennials there every year. I don’t do too badly with brassicas, I have seen wasps patrolling the beds for caterpillars in the spring and that has worked out for me. Of course, in my small garden, I'm not growing a huge amount. Shady Willow - an 'excavator' on your Christmas list!! lol That and a chainsaw seems to be the recipe for success...lol.

Congrats on all the new scapes! I have Navy Blues, Earlene Garber, Levi Davis and Going Bananas putting up new ones! But Very Berry Ice is still blooming, These Eyes, Navy Blues, Palace Garden Beauty, and Little Blue Bell are all still reblooming. So, still SOME bloom here!

Ellie, I have wondered about you! :) Have you gotten any rain from Faye yet? I sure wish she'd take herself on to somewhere else now. We needed some rain, but geez, enough is enough! LOL I guess this might be a case of "be careful what you ask for, cause you just might get it". The main problem here though, is all these dang "spin off" tornados popping around our area.
Glad everyone is getting some rebloom scapes. If water is the key to color saturation, then mine should be dripping with color!! :)

Good, I was looking for you. I'm glad the tornados were around your area, not where you were. I was somewhat amused by the weather forecaster's comments that the sun and heating yesterday might be right for the production of tornados, BUT THEY WOULD BE SMALL AND SHORTLIVED. Like size matters with a tornado if it hits where you are.

Be nice if this rain just went to other places that still need it, but I think we're stuck for a couple more days. And I still haven't had quite four inches, so I know you are wet.

Kay, I don't know if you've ever heard of Santuck (huge fleamarket every 1st Sat.) but that's where I live. It's on hwy. 9 about 8 miles north of Wetumpka.
There was a tornado spotted, not just indicated by radar, somewhere in our community yesterday, but we never saw it, thank goodness. Hey, I don't care how large or small they are, I don't want them dropping in on me, that's for sure!
BTW, it's still raining as I'm typing.

Good for you! Now you'll be able to post more gorgeous pictures. Rebloom was the best thing ever invented in daylilies.

Yep, I know where that is. We are still getting rain too Jan. Last time I looked a couple hors ago, we were up to 3.7 inches. The good thing is it is a slow constant rain. The sump pump hasn't even had to cut on at all. I guess the thirsty ground is still at least trying to soak it up.

Tom, I hope it does get to you. We were in such extremem drought all year last year, and I think we were still about seven or eight inches short of rain this year when this started, so I am grateful. But I have a number of shipments on the way, and more work to do to be ready for them. It's not happening this week though, obviously.

Stay safe ya'll, and remember to put your emergency supplies (including doggie/kitty food) in your safe room!! Mine is our pantry, isn't that appropriate!

Well the rain has stopped and the sun's out for now. Did a quick walk through of my soggy garden....more rebloom scapes on 3 more dl's. Leah Abbot, Czars Treasure, and Baby Blues all putting up new scapes. :)
We've had a total of 10 inches of rain from Fay up to now. Sure hope she's gone and I'm not wishing anything bad on anyone, but I don't want to see Gustav come our way either. I can only imagine the uprooted trees that would result since the ground is already so saturated!!

Glad you are safe with all that ugly weather, Jan! And how cool to have a daylily Fall, too! I'm looking forward to your photos.
