New...Watermelon Hosta

Seen this new hosta yet? Hosta 'Watermelon'...ummm...someone write this guy and tell him it's not a good thing!

My first thought when seeing this hosta was "HVX" - could someone who really knows (Denny?) jump in and tell us if it really is HVX...

I have a Captain Kirk which looks similar - I am sure it has the virus, but I am afraid to dig it up as it is surrounded by other hostas - I wouldn't want sap or roots to accidentally fall on another hosta and infect it.

Do you think I should leave well enough alone, or should I try to dig it up without infecting surrounding plants? If the latter, how should I do it?

If that's not HVX, I'm under 200#.

Jakki, what a dilemma, sorry. Perhaps a picture post would help others here decide dig or forget...

Jakki,I have several hosta with HVX,that I've had for years,growing among my other plants.People have ragged on me for years,because I am keeping them,but they have never infected any other hostas,so I'm not worried. You,just like me, can do whatever you like. They're your hostas. Phil
