Other than this first one, these are all late bloomers I bought from Olallie.

WEE WILLIE WINKIE FFO. This is one I got from Tranquil Lakes Nursery a few years ago.

VT THE LAST MELON. Well ok, the first flower was yesterday and this flower is today. But close enough LOL!

VT GOOD N GOLD FFO. This picture I took last night as I realised I had missed it earlier. So it is not looking it's best.

VT FALL PINK MELON. Not the first flower but just recently started blooming.

These are mostly the batch of unregistered Olallie extra lates that I got. The VT is what they use to show thier own introductions that they sell.

Cindy- Let us know what you find at Curts that is late or especially very late. I can always use more, especially if they are very late. Sharon- I found when I started looking for true late and very late bloomers I had to accept flowers that were not the typical fancy ruffled bagels in order to have lots of late (and especially very late) blooming daylilies. I really like VT TYPE ALPHA too. It really does look fantastic in a clump as soon as afew blooms open at once. Plus it is a really pretty shade of pink.

Lol, Well Mary and I jumped on the bandwagon big time this year and have about 15 pots of different varieties. I'm lazy and mine are living where I can hit them with a hose once a day (outside), so mine aren't in the best shape, but they'll make lots of rhizomes this fall. And John, I like them both...and I think I have them both (or virtually identical cvs).

Kiss of Paradise is really nice, I relly like the look of it. Lovely pattern on Dragonfly Dawn, I have admired it, but after hearing how it does for you, guess I will pass it by. I do love the patterned ones right now. Like Kate said, foliage here is really tall, but so far I am not seeing a problem with short scapes. Except for Dumortieri that is in bloom now, and I don't know that I have ever seen that one have a problem with short scapes. Selma Rose is an early bloomer, and often has a problem with short scapes. Not this year, not really tall but out of the foliage, at least.

Thanks Kay, yes with the temps we have been having it may be earlier than usual . The poor alliums have not even lasted a week and they are pretty much done . The iris however are late . Everything is all screwed up here this year . We have had such extremes of weather the gardens dont know if they are coming or going . Right now we are extremely dry ......like the last 2 years , the drought started in May and continued through to October. I was hoping that would not be the case this year but so far it is not looking good.

I choose VT Yellow Sights, I like the color. You'll sure have many blooms in September!

VT Yellow Sights is my favorite, but anything that's still blooming could be a favorite.

It is yellow and melon day. They are all nice. What's not to like when they bloom this late?

I would love to have blooms in September. We will see. The first time I bought late bloomers from Olallie what I did is I went thru their late blooming section. They list when they bloom there in Vermont. So I choose ones that they say bloom starting in September. That means when I bring them down here they start to month earlier than they started there. For instance listed as mid September starts mid August here. Of course that is approxamatly, not exactly.

Well they are all very pretty, but looks like all the late Bloomers are either yellow or melon colors, orangy colors.
YELLOW SIGHTS is a very pretty one.At least you have daylilies blooming.

Last Melon and Yellow Sights are my favorites it's so nice to see all the DL's still blooming in everyones garden.

Jean, yellows or melon colors are very common in the late bloomers but not all are those shades.

Linda, This time of year those Olallie intros (with the VT prefix) really show their stuff in the garden.

I like the color on VT The Last Melon. So nice to have some late ones blooming to keep the season going.
