My pick for the day is the first one, White Eyes Pink Dragon. The color on it is so intense. Gudrid is my next choice. I love the midribs and the green throats. Marg

Oh no...LOWES is open? darn and I just let DH take my truck lol. But I am almost done catching up here and then I go clean the garage. Steve, the guy who put our new windows in. FINALLY has time to install the new side garage door. It needs a new framework and he did such a good job on the patio door. That DH refused to have anyone else do that door. I am so excited. The beginning of the new year is looking good. If I forget for a moment that it took 2 hours to get online hahahaha What a timing also. Just when I am painting the house by that door. Perfect. This way I do not have to redo it later. Well Lowes will have to wait. But I do need to get soil for all the seeds I want to start. Have fun and watch out for that weather Kristy. Lucy

Sorry it has taken me a while to get back and check in. I was out of town for work and just got home. Thanks so much everyone for the compliments. It makes me feel good, I must admit. I always seem to see what needs to be done, and sometimes forget to look at what it is! I will try to answer everyone's questions. Hope I don't miss any. In no particular order... The lilies in the "big" picture are almost all daylilies. The lilies in the close-up pictures I am not sure. Just some bulbs I picked up, probably at a big box store or the local garden center? Sorry I don't have their names. The rose pictured in the 4th picture is Morden Belle. There are actually 3 bushes planted in that bed. I hope that is the rose you meant? Yes, I do have the courtyard of roses and yes they are blooming. However, many of the roses on the fence were taken down this year due to RRD. I have planted bittersweet in their place. Won't be the beautiful flowers, but will provide privacy that won't get RRD. As you can see from the picture below, the fence is now pretty bare looking on the side. I have decided that I will try to keep the roses on the fence across the end and around the corner. The need for privacy there is not so great, as the Wine and Roses weigela in the island bed does screen most of the garden from that end. Again, thank you everyone! Pokeberry have sort of carrot-shaped roots, so digging with an old fashioned dandelion digger (one of the straight-bladed ones with a fork a the bottom that can be used standing to get good leverage) works pretty well to actually get them out of the ground IME. (Be sure to dispose of the roots where no one might mistake them for edibles, however, as many part of pokeberry plants are toxic.) Our diggers are probably 50 years old though, so I don't know if you can get them any more, though yard sales might be a possible source.

Everyone loves Maryotts, they really are the best so I am not surprised at your glowing report. Hurray for Maryotts!! Maybe you don't have much blooming but what there is looks really great. Such pretty blooms I don't know what to pick for favorite. Those first three all tie for first place in my book :-))

White Eyes Pink Dragon does not stay that intense all day. Here is a picture I just took. It is 3 hours later than the first one.

Purple Kaboom managed to get overlooked this morning. here it is at 11:30.

Mary Lightfine was slow to open this morning.

All the daylilies look great. I do like the first one, White Eyes Pink Dragon the best.

Is White Eyes Pink Dragon a late for you, or is it just a long bloomer? Surprised that See His Glory performs so well farther north.

White Eyes Pink Dragon started blooming August 3rd. That is probably Midlate to Late.

The first pic of WHITE EYES PINK DRAGON is just amazing. Such gorgeous color. Too bad it doesn't last all day. It is still pretty in the second pic though.

I like White Eyes, Pink Dragon also, and Radiation Biohazard :) I've seen some neat pinks up on the LA (Miss Piggy, Flamingo Eyes, etc.)and was curious how they compare to each other.

White eyes, Pink Dragon may win out this time over Mary Lightfine, my usual fav. Gorgeous daylilies.

Gotta get me one of them dragons for the Land called Honalee! It is beautiful to say the least! Mary Lightfine runs a close second. :)
