Hi, I would like to plant 200 to 300 tomato plants, I assume I would have to get them bulk without a pot. Anyone local have an idea or do you know where I can order some...Anita ***** Anita, I think it would help to know what kinds of varieties you're thinking about, as in hybrids or OP heirlooms or what. And specific varieties or not. I know several farmers who have tomato plants shipped up here to the NE from the south, and if I look at the list that Dave posted I might be able to find the one place in particular, and they do sell wholesale, but it isn't a place to get anything other than popular hybrids. And someone posted a link to Darrel's selected plants but that wouldn't be a place to get lots of hybrids but would be a place to get some interesting Heirloom varieties, but I wonder if he even sells bulk amounts wholesale and he does ship in pots. The places in the south that sell wholesale that I'm thinking of sell the plants in bunches tied together with no pots, as you mentioned in your post. Carolyn

Prefinished is not from a mill. The flooring finisher purchaes it from a mill then finishes it and sells it as prefinished. Raw flooring possibly a better deal but then you need arrange delivery, break it up to the different parties, and arrange for installation and finishing. At the end of the day all I see is someone being pissed off that they ended up with a differnt amount of shorts, etc, etc. No one responded as they do not feel it is a practical solution.

Yes, one strategy when broadcasting urea is to irrigate a lot. So that was a good move on your part. The urea will dissolve, and soak deep into the soil, where you really want it to be. That's where it turns into nutrients, and the nutrients are captured. Urea is really a different kind of "fertilizer". Of course, a common source of urea is urine, and it is similarly inefficient with regard to plant nutrition to just pee on the soil surface. Also inefficient to store the urine for a while before applying it. Fresh and deep! There is a lot of mythology about using urine as fertilizer that isn't really based on the chemistry.

walters is strictly wholesale .. do you have the tax status to buy directly from them ..?? i have visited them ... their plants can vry from tiny tissue culture rootlings to fully grown plants .. many sold under the proven winneers label ... what you get.. is what you pay for.. and i would not presume they can all be planted in the ground ... many wholesale plugs at of a size that they are to be put into cell packs.. and grown on for another 4 to 6 weeks to be what you see at the nursery ... i wish we had a better idea of your project to give you useful advice ... i have walked in your dream shoes ... suffered more losses than i liked.. but on the other hand.. i grew a huge garden faster than i could keep up with it .. yeah.. i filled the yard.. fast.. and so did the weeds ... you might be better off growing your garden in stages .. rather than being... for lack of a better word.. greedy for speed ... again.. plugs are plugs.. usually sold at that size.. to grow on to saleable or plantable size ... but if you pay enough.. you can get garden plants ... if you supplied links to which you refer.. we might look at them for you ... ken
