A few more on Saturday

Here are a couple I'll post. Blooms are popping open everywhere but these were some of my favorites today.

DESERT SHORE - Hanson - opened 2 blooms. Love the pinching, tall- and it looks to be giving STEALTH BOMBER and LONG LEGGED LAP DANCER a run for height- and branching to boot. One thing I noticed is that when the buds are developing and just before bloom I thought it had thrips because the outer part of the bud had alot of bumps. Nope, no thrips. Opened perfectly, even with our cooler dewy mornings we have had over the last couple of days. Did not increase that much from last year but heck, I love the bloom.

DYNA GIRL- Owens- just exactly as Paul's photo. Very soft pink.

NO MORE TEARS - Emmerich - lovely blooms, opens okay, tall, have to go and check about the branching.

ENTER LAUGHING - Mason - tall, may be a bit top heavy in the blooms but still has good branching.

GRETTA GRAPETTE - Ross - So sweet when they open and the eye color is very pretty. It is registered at only 21 inches which is about right for the scapes I'm seeing.I prefer a bit taller scapes so this one may be leaving in the fall.

And the last one I'll post today because my fingers are starting to ache again (aspirin time)there were alot of bullies open this morning

BLACK EYED BULLY - Miner - perfect early morning openings even with the cooler temps and dew. Very tall and well branched.

Time to read the posts and rest my fingers for a bit. A marathon of 3 days of weed pulling has my hands aching.

I love BLACK EYED BULLY. It is just different looking with that unique coloring. My favorite for today. Second favorite goes to ENTER LAUGHING. It looks like a very good yellow.

The eye on Black Eyed Bully is intensely black. In frankness, however, the bloom is too stubby for my taste.

My husband and I like Richard Norris's daylilies. They do very well here. This one is Remembered Kisses. We planted it in the summer of 2012 and last summer it bloomed its fool head off. The only complaint I have is that I can't get it to set seed. Maybe this year now that it is more established.

Jean, where's the price tag on Mini Pearl?? lol! She's a cutie. I have Becky Lynn and really like the color. Blissful Beauty is just that:) I think Buttered Popcorn is just an all-around must have daylily. Even though yellow is not my favorite color in the color wheel of daylilies, I would not be without BP. Vickie

Roi de Navare had much better color today. Tepin was planted in a spot where lots of weeds were growing, but it's looking better now. I posted a picture of Zombie Dust the other day, but it wasn't showing any pattern. Today it is. I think this one is interesting. Queen of the Garden is one I posted last season, but it never fails to delight. This is Sea of Cinders X Happy Holidays to You. It is actually a brighter red than the picture shows. I just couldn't get the camera to capture the real color. Of course, Bob was happy with this one. It is Bass Gibson X Spirit of Halloween. I like the eye on this one. It is Entering Warp Speed X Dr Jules Michael Vinkman. We just play around with patterns, and thought this one was neat. It is Time in a Bottle X Four Beasts in One. This is its maiden bloom.

I'll take Desert Short and Black Eyed Bully. They are both gorgeous and hybridized by a couple of great guys.

Desert Shore and Dyna Girl are my favorites--can't decide between the two which I like better.

Dyna Girl is my favorite here, like both the yellows and nice color of No More Tears. Is it a smaller flower?

nat4b: NO MORE TEARS bloom size is 5.5.

Thanks all for the comments. Really hot and humid here today again even though the wind is blowing. Thought we would get a storm last night or early this morning and cool us off but I guess it went either south or north of us.
