Luna Hibiscus - little black bugs?
Comments (2)Aphids. You can spray them off with the hose when you see them, they leave some brown residue, I can see some on one of the leaves in the pics. Home centers sell natural sprays you can drench your plant at night with it. They are the favorite food of the ladybug. Some people actually buy ladybugs for their garden, but I have found that spraying a spray called Organicide at Home Depot works really well, on almost any pest, and it is non toxic and natural, so really that is all you will ever need with almost all of your plants. It's concentrated, so it goes a long way. I've used it for years, but do it at night, and drench the entire plant with it. You can use it around kids and pets, totally safe. Your hibiscus will be beautiful, I love them, I know how you feel. Mine is blooming now, with those gorgeous big flowers....See MoreLuna Hibiscus - little black bugs?

Comments (23)If you can purchase it locally, then I wouldn't bother with it unless you have another caterpillar problem, in which case, you can run out and get some. It doesn't keep well, so if you don't end up using it, you'll likely have to toss it at the end of the season. As for the catfacing, there's always a chance that something--bugs, fungus, etc.--could take advantage of any break in a fruit's skin, but most of the time, a catfaced tomato matures just fine. It looks like the one in your pic is scarred over pretty well. The top "pest" that I can think of that might cause a problem in vulnerable fruit is ants, and Bt won't work on them anyway....See MoreWhat is this black stuff oozing from my tree?
Comments (9), I'm new to having trees. False alarm.... ===>>> knowledge is power ... so i wouldnt call it a false alarm ... the only bad question.. is the unasked question ... lets see what other say ... before we write it off as just seasonal ... i tried focusing on the dead leaves laying around it ... but i dont see a lot of maple ... see if you can find any that look like this: https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffnt&q=sugar+maple+leaves&iax=images&ia=images or come back when you can get a pic of two of new leaves ... it does look like maple bark ... i also wonder why it has that new growth right at the crown ... sometimes trees do that .. when they are not healthy above .. do understand.. that trees are renewable.. and sometimes they just have to go ... dont go all tree hugger on an old weak tree hanging over your house ... so look up there before it leafs out.. and take some pix.. if you see anything weird up there.. and lets talk about it ... leave yard doctor off further posts... that used to cause all kinds of problems... and its a dead forum .... if it were ever active in the first place .. ken...See Moreagrigirl
