I've got a good sized two year old plant growing in a container. Would you like me to see if I can split off a smaller division for you? I might be able get a division that will fit in a flat rate priority box and would be happy to send it to you for postage. Lynda

Hi Karyn, I read this stuff from a local newspaper, here is the recipe (I quote as it was): "Take a quarter kilo of whole, unpeeled garlic and separate one liter of water, bring to the boil, simmer for about 15 minutes, remove from the stove and leave to stand for approximately 12 hours. Then strain it through fine muslin cloth and spray on pests. The same garlic can be re-boiled two or three times before losing its potency. Proportionally increase the amount of garlic and water for larger batches. This spray is completely safe for both indoor and outdoor use and should be applied 2-3 times a week until the problem is resolved. This spray washes off in wet weather so donÂt use it during periods of extreme humidity." It worked best for me when applied in morning and just before evening i.e. twice daily. Happy Gardening. I'd like to start some of these from seeds....but I have no experience at all with doing any of this. My large bush is covered with the white berries which the birds are now devouring. Can I plant those berries as they are now or must I wait for them to "mature" more on the bush...and take my chances with the birds leaving me some.... or should I break them open and plant the individual seeds? I have the bottoms of gallon milk jugs filled with potting soil....is covering this with a baggy, as the person before me described, required? Many thnaks for you time and consideration

I would Use Rubbing alcohol spray To make the spray, mix 1/2 to 1 cup of rubbing alcohol with 1 quart of water in a pump-spray bottle. ItâÂÂs a good idea to test spray one leaf of an infested plant and wait a day to check for damage. If the plant is unaffected, spray the whole plant. Use once every 3 days I use this during winter. if the whole plant is affected best to use the spray. Sometimes, you see one or two, then dip cotton in the solution and swab the leaf/stem. Good luck.
