Hot and dry. The rain that was in our area yesterday dried up and blew away before reaching here. The garden is definately past its peak and is in decline.

I thought they had plenty of wow. But I do think especialy wow for your sisters daylily. Great clump shot. Boy that Double Pom Pom sure is one strange looking daylily. To me at least!

Sweet Sunrise and Winton are definitely lookers. Wish I could have sent you some of our rain yesterday -- it didn't stop the whole day, and we've had plenty lately.

Sarah - my Roses in Snow hasn't looked good at all until today so give it time. Rita - I love the hot colors, too, but they sure look different by the end of the day in this heat. Only Red Volunteer seemed to still look good by late this evening.

Thanks, everyone. For those interested in Berma Abercrombie, she's been blooming already for about a week and would you believe I didn't even notice the buds until I looked at the photo? It's just one of those flowers I take for granted, and I shouldn't -- most cultivars don't get that kind of bud count here. Mantis, Mediterranean Sailor is a nice, large bloom that gets a fair amount of shade here, but I think it helps the color. While I like the look of Royal Renaissance, the performance hasn't been anything to brag about. It's in an area of the garden I don't pay much attention to, so I've just left it alone. Nat, I do like the pattern on Unfolding Paradox. It's an unusal shade of violet/purple that blooms a little later here, so it's appreciated.

Tom, You mentioned Windy Hill and the unregistered DL on my post. Do you know if the Wilsons sell on the Lily Auction? I found their website but nothing looks familiar. How did you know the one you pictured is an unregistered DL? How tall is it? Thanks for your help. It is a bright, striking DL, but rather short. I have it planted at the south edge of the garden near the back. I will need to move it front and center unless it 'grows up'. Jane

Dave that's so true. When I was a kid I could go to just about any field and find these guys! Just a few minutes ago I spotted a large walking leaf insect on the ground and pointed it out to a couple coworkers. I told them as a kid I'd always hunt for mantis. That's a great pic you took btw.

I can see a run on Winton at all the vendors sites...LOL..it is a beauty though, and one I don't have, I might add!! :)
The rest of your photos are beauties too Tom...I have DPP, and I think it's pretty, but then, I like doubles and some people just don't. Can I sneak a photo of mine in here?

Jan of course you can sneak a picture in. We are probably the only two that have this flower.

Rick I have $5, but the reason I have $5 is that I don't give it to addicts. Instead of buying food, you would probable squander it on a daylily.
